Review: Assembly of IKEA Norrsten Cabinet

The IKEA Norrsten Cabinet is an excellent choice for storage. It has four spacious compartments that can be divided with the four shelves included to accomodate books or other media. The cabinet also has two drawers in the bottom two sections.

Assembly is actually broken down into a serveral step process; Cabinet, Metal Base Frame, Doors and Drawers. The overall assembly takes a bit over an hour for an experienced person, novice can find themsleves taking a little longer. These cabinets sell for $399 at IKEA warehouses and we install them for a flat rate of $75.00 per.

IKEA Pax Kompliment Pine Wardrobe Doors - (Install Review)

Yesterday I had the opportunity to assemble 4 Pax Wardrobe Frames (2 @ 19" or what I call "narrow" and 2 @ 39" or what I call "wide") with these stained grey Pine Kompliment doors. These doors look great, however (and there is always an however) if you go to drill holes into these doors for handles, be aware that the wood grain on the door runs vertcal on the panel and splits easily. Gradually and slowly drill the holes using a tiny drill bit first and gradually moving up in size to the disired hole size. Let the drill bit do the cutting and do not push the bit into the door. This will minimize any damage that could occur to the door while drilling.

IKEA Pax Wardrobes with sliding doors in Blauvelt, NY

Project consist of four 39" inch Pax frames with two sets of sliding glass doors (assembly required @ $180.00 per set), and 10 shelves. Total assembly price $530.00.

IKEA Pax Wardrobes in Park Slope, Brooklyn

Project consist 5 pax frames, 14 shelves, 7 Kompliment drawer, 3 rods, 7 doors, and 6 handles.

Total assembly $480.00

IKEA Pax Wardrobe System in Tribecca, NY

Project consist of 6 Pax frames (4 narrow, 2 wide), 10 shoe racks, 8 Kompliment wooden drawers 8 wire baskets, 4 rods, 1 set frosted glass sliding doors and 4 frosted glass hinged doors. Total assembly cost $650.00
